During Neighborhood Week, in addition to building stairs and making flower pots, there was plenty of cooking, baking, and eating! The plates were filled with traditional dishes from Czech, Romani, and Ukrainian cuisines. Among the treats on offer were broccoli soup, Ukrainian borscht, varenyky, and Romani goja. There were also delicious wedding cookies with plum jam, cottage cheese, and poppy seed fillings by Mrs. H. Polhošová Sr., as well as the equally wonderful and already famous mini wreaths by Mrs. Štanglerová.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who actively participated in the events at Bedřiška throughout the week, and we hope that the many visitors enjoyed our cooks’ creations and felt at home with us.
And if you regret not being able to attend and taste all those delicacies, all is not lost! During this week, a unique Bedřiška cookbook, Recipes from Bedřiška, was also created!
